Mars is About to Enter Aries. Here's What You Need to Know.

This week, I want to talk about Aries — because some very significant Aries energy is about to arrive. In many ways, everything we've experienced so far this year has been preparing us for what unfolds as April progresses.

Saturn and Neptune Enter Aries

Saturn and Neptune have both moved into Aries — not for the first time, since last year they each spent a brief period in Aries before retrograding back into Pisces. These two outer planets share an approximately 36-year cycle, and this year they came together for a rare conjunction at a very special degree: 0 degrees Aries, the beginning of the beginning. If Aries is the sign of new beginnings, then 0 degrees Aries is the very start of that sign — which is a big part of why the Saturn-Neptune conjunction of February 20th, 2026 is so historically significant.

Why It Hasn't Fully Clicked Into Gear Yet

Both planets are now in Aries, but their ruler — Mars — has been moving through Pisces (and before that, Aquarius and Capricorn). In Pisces, Mars sits at the very end of the zodiac, bringing a feeling of completion: dissolving old structures, transcending the past, releasing old identities and ways of operating. Mars in Pisces isn't in full "go" mode — it's in dissolving mode. Movement is happening, but on the spiritual level, not in the tangible, here-and-now world.

This tells us something important about Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Even though Aries is the sign of "ready, set, go" — or really just "go" — that forward energy has been tempered by Mars in Pisces. There's a sense of "it's time to move," but without a clear direction yet. If you've felt like you have loose ends to tie up or you're just finishing things from the past, that's exactly what's happening. You're preparing for what's coming.

April 9th: Mars Enters Aries

Mars leaves Pisces on April 9th and enters Aries at 0 degrees. When that happens, the energy shifts dramatically. The planet of action and movement will leave the watery, spiritual, dissolving energy of Pisces and step into pure Aries fire.

When that happens, the preparation will be over. It will be time to go.

What Changes When Mars Enters Aries

Mars moving into Aries is a big shift on its own — suddenly there's clarity, decisiveness, and forward momentum. But it also affects how Saturn and Neptune, already in Aries, express themselves.

Saturn is the planet of structure, systems, and foundations. Neptune is the planet of dreams, myth, imagination, and transcendent vision. With Mars now entering Aries as their ruler, both planets find a new sense of direction. Neptune in particular — which has felt a little lost and confused — will begin to orient itself. The dreamy, dissolving energy starts to find its purpose.

Mercury Enters Aries on April 14th

A few days after Mars, Mercury follows into Aries on April 14th. Mercury governs communication, thinking, information, and ideas. Coming out of Pisces — where clarity is elusive, like trying to grasp fog — Mercury in Aries brings a sharp shift: directness, mental clarity, and a strong sense of “here's what we need to do.”

Six Planets in Aries: The New Moon on April 17th

By the time the new moon in Aries arrives on April 17th, we'll have six planets in Aries, including Mars, the sign's ruler. That is a powerful concentration of Aries energy.

Aries is the Fool and the Warrior. It is instinct, spontaneity, life force, drive, and will — the unmitigated impulse to move toward what you want. It is action without overthinking.

The Fool, in the tarot, carries the beauty of not needing to know everything before taking the leap. There's real power in that — in learning as you go, in taking risks, in moving forward with openness.

The Warrior, on the other hand, knows that the battlefield is not the place to figure out your strategy. All of that preparation happens beforehand. When the moment comes, you act, react, and respond — without hesitation.

This is why I've been talking for months about the importance of tuning in with your heart, your values, your dreams, and your deeper desires. Once this Aries energy fully arrives, we will be in motion. The engine kicks into high gear — and you want to know where you're going before that happens.

A Word of Caution

Aries energy can also be rash. It's the energy of acting before thinking, of choices made on the fly — conflict, accidents, situations that blow up before you have a chance to slow down. Moving fast is exhilarating, but it carries risk. The invitation is to be grounded in your direction before the momentum builds, so that when it does, you're moving with purpose, not just speed.

Uranus Enters Gemini on April 25th

After the Aries new moon, the momentum continues. On April 25th, Uranus — the planet of earthquakes and lightning bolts — moves from Taurus into Gemini. In Taurus, that electric Uranian energy has been slowed and grounded by the earth sign's physical weight. In Gemini, there's nothing to hold it back. Think electricity moving freely through air: ideas, communication, and events all accelerating at once.

This is where we're headed. And while that might sound intense, there's no need to fear it — awareness is its own form of protection.

How to Navigate This Energy

Knowing who you are and what matters to you is your greatest asset right now. When things move fast, that inner clarity is what keeps you grounded and acting from truth rather than fear or reflex.

Here are a few practical ways to navigate the weeks ahead:

Err on the side of caution. With Aries energy running high, things can escalate quickly. Slow down where you can — look before you leap, take a breath before making a decision.

Remember you have the choice to slow down. Even when it feels like everything is moving at full speed, you can pause. You can say, "I need a moment before I decide." That choice is always available to you.

Ask yourself: is this true and right for me? If you're unsure, you need more time. If someone is pressuring you into a fast decision, check in with yourself first. There is almost always more wiggle room than it seems.

Act from your truth, not your fears. In the heat of the moment, it's easy to react from anxiety or unconscious habit. Before you respond, ask: do I actually have to do this? Is this really my only option?

And if something does move too fast and you find yourself in the middle of it — that's okay too. You can always come back afterward, process what happened, and find your footing from there.

What's Coming: A Stellium in Aries

As Mars and Mercury both enter Aries, a series of powerful conjunctions will follow: Mars conjunct Neptune, Mars conjunct Saturn, Mercury conjunct Neptune, Mercury conjunct Saturn, and a Mercury-Mars conjunction as well. Each of these is a story in itself — and together, they paint a picture of a month defined by bold beginnings, sharp clarity, and the call to move forward with intention.

Prepare Yourself Now

Before all of that Aries energy fully arrives, it's worth taking a moment to get clear. You might even write it down: What truly matters to you? What do you need to remember when things feel intense or fast-moving? What helps you stay grounded and connected to who you are? These aren't abstract questions — they're your anchor for the weeks ahead.

This Is a Creative Time

What's coming is going to feel very different from what we've been moving through. There will be more opportunity to make a difference, to make an impact — but things will also be chaotic. The whole apple cart is being upended, and how it gets put back together is, in large part, up to us.

This is important to hold onto: Aries is the energy of new life. New beginnings, new identities, new directions, new hope. So rather than focusing on what's falling apart or trying to hold everything together, direct your energy toward where new growth is possible. That's where your power is right now.

It's an exciting time — and yes, a little scary. But you are here for exactly this. You wouldn't be moving through this moment if you didn't have what it takes to navigate it. Stay grounded, do your self-care, and trust yourself.
