Episode 10 - Solar Eclipse in Leo
A solar eclipse is like a cosmic portal, opening up possibilities for accelerated growth and healing.
On the world stage, Leo’s energy can stir up drama and competition for the spotlight. But for each of us, something more personal is unfolding. This eclipse is an invitation to embrace your authenticity and let your light shine brightly. Ask yourself: Are you truly being yourself, or are you living up to someone else’s expectations? Are you proud of who you are becoming? How do you want to show up in the world?
A Cosmic Invitation: The Leo Solar Eclipse
The August 12th Leo Solar Eclipse opens gateways of change. While this may feel uncomfortable for some, there’s a deeper invitation at play—one that can bring clarity and transformation if we’re willing to listen.
A solar eclipse is like a cosmic portal, opening up possibilities for accelerated growth and healing. This particular eclipse, happening on August 12, 2026, at 10:36 a.m. Pacific Time (20° Leo), is charged with extra astrological support. Venus and Mercury are making harmonious connections (sextiles) to Uranus, which in turn is closely linked with Pluto and Neptune.
This creates a rare and supportive formation in the sky—the outer-planet sextiles known as Barbault's Basket, ready to catch and nurture your intentions. Even though these planetary alignments peaked in mid-July, their influence is still strong, amplified now by the eclipse and the presence of Mercury in Leo and Venus in Libra. (If you want a deep dive on this rare outer planet pattern, check out some of my earlier episodes!)
Walking Through Cosmic Open Doors
These sextile aspects are like cosmic open doors. They don’t force change, but they offer opportunities if we’re willing to walk through. The eclipse won’t do the work for us, but it will amplify our efforts—whether we’re acting intentionally or on autopilot. This is the time to consciously choose what you want, to let go of outdated habits and beliefs, and to step boldly into your creative, expressive self.
At its heart, this eclipse is about embodying authentic leadership. Not in the sense of titles or managing others, but in leading your own life—deciding what you stand for and living from that truth. Leo’s leadership is generous, expressive, and rooted in presence. It’s about taking ownership of your story and shining by example—not by force, but by being fully yourself.
Stepping Into the Spotlight
So, how are you showing up? Leo energy asks us to step into the spotlight—not for praise, but to let ourselves be truly seen. Remember the childlike joy of saying, “Look at what I made!”? We still long to share our creations, our growth, and our becoming. What do you want to be seen for? Are you proud of where you are, what you’re building, and how you’re changing?
As you move through this eclipse, notice where you might be performing versus genuinely showing up as yourself. Are you revealing your true essence and leading with confidence in what matters most to you? If something feels inauthentic or out of alignment, that’s your invitation to let it go and step forward in a way that is more true to who you are.
It might feel uncomfortable to notice where you’re trying to please others, fit in, or win approval. We all have places where we unconsciously seek attention or acceptance. This eclipse brings those patterns to the surface, not to judge, but to help us see what’s ready to be released. When you stand in genuine self-confidence, you’ll be seen for who you truly are—not for the roles you play.
Letting Go of Old Patterns
This is your moment to notice those old habits and gently let them go. Use the energy of this eclipse to step into your bold, creative, expressive self. When you feel good about what you’re sharing, others will notice and respond. True confidence and authenticity attract genuine respect—and this eclipse will amplify both your strengths and the areas ready for change.
If you notice areas in your life where things don’t feel fulfilling or authentic, that’s not a sign you’re failing—it’s a sign you’re ready to grow. Use this awareness as a gentle nudge toward what you’re ready to release and what you want to embrace moving forward.
Journaling for Self-Discovery
So how do you begin this process? Journaling can be a powerful tool. Reflect on any recent moments where you found yourself in the spotlight or reacting to attention. Ask yourself: What happened? How did it make you feel? How did you respond? If something didn’t feel right, explore why—without judgment. These insights can help you heal and move forward. Sometimes, sharing with a trusted friend can offer valuable support, too.
Here are a few journal prompts to spark your self-discovery:
- When was the last time you truly felt seen?
- What made that moment different from times when you felt you were performing or behaving according to expectation?
- If you imagine yourself a year from now, fully confident and authentic, what does that version of you look and feel like?
Pick one question and see where it leads you—you might be surprised by what you discover.
Embracing Boldness and Authenticity
This solar eclipse is a catalyst—a cosmic shift that encourages us to see ourselves more clearly and to show up with greater presence and authenticity. It’s a chance to step into our most joyful, creative, and passionate selves. Be bold, courageous, and heart-centered as you walk through the doors that are opening. This is a chance for all of us to shine more brightly, to lead by example, and to share our unique essence with the world.
So go ahead—be full of yourself! But make sure it’s your truest self, not the version others want you to be. The old criticism of “don’t be so full of yourself” is really about dimming your light. This eclipse invites you to do the opposite: to stand confidently in your truth and let your authentic self shine.
Take some time in the coming days to reflect, journal, and celebrate the parts of yourself you’re most proud of. Notice where you’re performing—and where you’re truly shining.
