Looking at the Week Ahead

We have coming up this week some interesting alignments and shifts in energy that I want to talk about. So, kind of zooming out a little bit to look at the big picture, and especially with this week’s Full Moon in Taurus, we also have the culmination or the coming to fruition of what we have been working on through this Moon cycle.

I’m Marina Ormes here with your astro perspective for Sunday, November 2nd. As time goes on, the planets keep moving in their positions in the sky. This movement of the planets gives us real insight into the energies that shape our lives, and how we as human beings interpret those energies is, of course, a fallible thing.

We’re not always perfect in our ability to predict—certainly—and that’s why I don’t do predictive astrology. But keep in mind that these are all symbolic energies, and there are always different ways to interpret them. Having said that, we can get some insight from what is unfolding.

Mars and Mercury Move into Sagittarius

One of the things that happens this week, just about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4th (Pacific), is that Mars goes from Scorpio into Sagittarius. Last week, Mercury went from Scorpio into Sagittarius.

We recently had Mars and Mercury joining together in a conjunction, meaning their energies merged. They came together in the same point in the zodiac—late Scorpio—and both being in Scorpio brought this depth, intensity, and focus on deeper levels of energy moving below the surface.

Themes of power arise: Who has the power? Where is the deeper movement—the deeper opportunity for healing? As we focus on that deeper place of empowerment, think about the difference between when you get into an argument and you’re just butting heads, because you’re maybe on opposite sides of an issue. You have your perspective, they have theirs, and you’re just clashing.

When someone has power to persuade or manipulate, that may not connect with a deeper truth or transformation. If there is a deeper transformation possible, what would that look like? We often have to be honest with ourselves about what’s really going on and reach deep within ourselves to find our own place of empowerment.

Finding Empowerment and Transformation

Where can the energy move to actually shift things in a positive direction, not just have one side win over the other? That path of transformation, healing, and empowerment always comes back to authenticity. Are we being honest with ourselves? Are we reaching into our deeper truth?

Are we saying the things we need to say and moving in the world in the ways we need to move? What can we do differently to create space for shifting energy and actually moving things forward in a positive direction?

That is not an easy task. There’s not one way or a single right answer. But it is the noble path of finding our deeper truth and moving into transformation.

Relationship Dynamics and the Mercury–Mars Conjunction

Imagine this happening with an intimate partner—where you might just be butting heads or arguing. When you find that place where both realize, “Oh, I’m attached to this,” or, “I’m getting triggered about that,” and you both choose to open to each other’s perspective, healing can happen.

That is the invitation of the Mercury–Mars conjunction in Scorpio. I’ve been talking about stingers, power struggles, and the feeling of wanting to win or dominate. But this deeper place calls us to heal within ourselves so that we can hold space for transformation, without needing control over what that transformation looks like.

Now that Mercury and Mars are both in Sagittarius, the energy shifts. Mars no longer needs to dominate and now seeks a bigger picture of truth. Based on what we’ve been working through, what do we need to say? How can we organize ourselves around meaning and belief?

Sagittarius: The Bigger Picture of Truth

Mercury in Sagittarius represents the thinker, communicator, philosopher, storyteller, and teacher. It’s about putting the word out—communication, publication, and broadcasting. Mars is about action.

So, how do our actions align with the story we’re telling? How is the story changing, and what truth do we need to align with? How can we shift our beliefs to support our actions and ways of moving in the world?

This new phase emphasizes resonance rather than domination—whose story feels authentic? In the collective, this relates to the words we use and the principles guiding our actions. Personally, it’s about how our beliefs and communication evolve to express what’s been moving inside us.

Mars Opposes Uranus: Shake-Ups and Revelation

As this shift occurs, Mars opposes Uranus. Mars in Sagittarius focuses on narrative and purpose, while Uranus in Gemini brings shake-ups in information, ideas, journalism, and communication. Unexpected developments around facts, technology, and thinking may arise.

This is not good or bad—it just is. Uranus brings unpredictability in information and awareness, while Mars fuels action and courage around beliefs.

It may be valuable to write down your beliefs—what matters and why—and play with words, refining how you express your ideas.

The Full Moon in Taurus: Grounding and Fruition

The Full Moon occurs Wednesday, November 5th, at 5:19 a.m. Pacific, at 13° Taurus. The Sun will be in Scorpio. A Full Moon represents culmination and illumination—the Moon is fully lit, reflecting light back to us, revealing insights we need to see.

Taurus values stability, dependability, and practicality. This cycle began with the Libra New Moon, so the theme involves relationships. As we reach this Taurus Full Moon, something must be made tangible.

Is it about setting clearer boundaries or adjusting routines and patterns? How can you embody your truth within relationships?

The Moon opposite the Sun reflects our need for deeper trust and intimacy. Authenticity in relationship builds co-creative power and grounded trust—the hallmark of Taurus energy.

Practicing Patience and Self-Forgiveness

Putting Taurus energy into practice means embodying emotional learning. The Scorpio Sun stirs deep emotional patterns and triggers. Love yourself through those emotions. Forgive yourself for not being perfect—because practice means imperfection and growth.

Forgive yourself for moments of defensiveness or imbalance; this is how learning happens. Taurus teaches that to put things into practice, you have to truly practice.

Outer Planet Alignments: A Long-Term Shift

At this Full Moon, Mars opposes Uranus and forms a network of sextiles with Neptune and Pluto—creating a “cradle” formation within a nearly complete hexagon. Jupiter almost fills a fifth point of that pattern.

This configuration marks long-term change. These planetary alignments will move in and out of exact formation until the end of the decade, reminding us we are in a moment of possibility.

Things don’t work the way they used to—and they don’t have to. This invites us to imagine new solutions and approaches that don’t rely on outdated models.

Venus in Libra: Balance, Values, and Authentic Cooperation

Venus is at 28° Libra—forming a T-square with Pluto and Jupiter and a yod with Neptune and Uranus. All aspects converge toward Venus in Libra, the planet of love, pleasure, and harmony in one of her home signs.

Libra energy seeks peace, balance, and justice. It wants to smooth over conflict and find common ground. But we must avoid people-pleasing or giving up authenticity to keep peace.

Stay true to yourself and your values. The outcomes we desire are made possible by our belief in them. Don’t just ask if things will be okay—choose to believe in what you can create.

Libra seeks real balance, not conquest. True harmony moves forward together, even in messy ways, toward peace and justice.
