Major Outer Planet Alignments in 2025
Saturn-Neptune Conjunction: From Dreams to Reality
Timing: This aspect will be closest to exact on July 13-20, with Saturn at one degree, 55 minutes Aries and Neptune at two degrees, eight minutes Aries, about 1/5 of a degree of separation. It is within one degree of exact from June 9 to September 15, 2025.
The conjunction of Saturn to Neptune begins a new 36-year cycle between the energies of Saturn (government, structure, infrastructure, laws, etc.) and Neptune (myth, narrative, dreams, spiritual beliefs and values, etc.). During a conjunction (coming together), a seed is planted that will unfold throughout the coming cycle.
Saturn and Neptune joining in early Aries in 2025 and 2026 brings an opportunity to plant the seeds of future systems and structures based on new mythology, spiritual beliefs, or dreams of the future. While the opportunity is present to reaffirm old spiritual beliefs, myths, and dreams, recreating one's attachments from the past is not supported by the "birthing" energy of both planets in Aries.
Because confusion, delusion, and misinformation may linger from both planets' recent time in Pisces, it is necessary to actively envision the future by connecting with the clarity of one's purpose and convictions. Finding courage, taking risks, and being proactive will facilitate one's ability to access clarity.
This is a time of planting the seeds of the future, without knowing what will eventually take shape. Conflict may require one to take a stand or fight for cherished values. Actions may be impulsive, spontaneous, and direct. Ultimately, erring on the side of being proactive can help clarify next steps.

Jupiter-Saturn Square: Paradigms Shifting
2024 Timing:
--exact on August 19, 2024 at 17 degrees Gemini-Pisces
--exact on December 24, 2024 at 14 degrees Gemini-Pisces
2025 Timing:
--exact on June 15, 2025 at 1 degree Cancer-Aries
This square between Jupiter and Saturn is 1/4 of the way through the Jupiter-Saturn cycle. The square represents evolutionary pressure between Jupiter, the planet of expansion and abundance, as well as faith and beliefs, and Saturn, the planet of systems, structures, boundaries, and responsibilities.
This conflict between beliefs and existing structures needs to be resolved through a shift in beliefs or approach. There can be a deeper understanding of how structures operate, especially through understanding their limitations.
Traditionally, the Jupiter-Saturn relationship has to do with nations and governments. In our modern world, with its political challenges in the U.S. and elsewhere, we can see the tension between the Saturnian themes of seniority, authority, and control, and the Jupiterian need for expansion and a broader perspective.
Regardless of one's political "side," these dynamics play out, necessitating changes in beliefs and approaches that assist all of us to overcome the limitations of the past without losing the stabilizing foundations provided by Saturn.

Jupiter-Neptune Square: New Possibilities for Spiritual Wisdom
Timing: This aspect is exact on June 19, 2025 at 2 degrees Cancer-Aries.
At the same time that Jupiter is 1/4 of the way through its 20-year cycle with Saturn, Saturn happens to be in a conjunction with Neptune (see above). This means Jupiter is also 1/4 of the way through its approximate 13-year cycle with Neptune.
This aspect underscores the need for a shift in consciousness regarding beliefs that encompass a broader spiritual perspective. This can bring up themes of religion and religious beliefs, as well as guiding principles such as a relationship to nature, ethics, or a broader perspective on meaning.
Saturn's connection with Neptune introduces limitations to spiritual truths and can raise concerns about religious fundamentalism or a need to control others through one's beliefs. Grappling with these issues brings a potential for healing through accessing higher truths about responsibility, stewardship, and how to put spiritual values like compassion into practice.
Jupiter's square to Neptune brings a need to reevaluate one's beliefs through recognizing where one has been misguided in the past. Acknowledging sadness or grief over what has been lost can help one reconnect with their heart and find, or articulate, a new guiding light of wisdom that will be more helpful in the future.

Neptune-Pluto Sextile: A New Vision for Humanity
Background: This aspect is in and out of exact from the 1940s through the 2040s, due to overlapping elliptical orbits.
2025 Timing: This aspect is within one degree of exact June 29 through October 7, 2025, and is its closest on August 19-20, 2025, at one degree Aries-Aquarius.
Neptune and Pluto are at a waxing sextile, or 1/6 of the way through their cycle with each other. The full Neptune-Pluto cycle lasts about 500 years, and the previous conjunction was in 1891-92.
Neptune represents a bigger picture that includes dreams, imagination, and spirituality, while Pluto represents truth, power, and transformation. Through this aspect that is unusually long due to the overlapping elliptical orbits of Neptune and Pluto, mythology and spiritual truths are in the process of unfolding in a new vision of humanity.
There is much that could be said about this sextile, and it is hard to have perspective on this aspect that is all we have known for most of our lifetimes. But to speculate on its meaning, I suggest that humanity is coming to terms with its own power, and we need to imagine what it means to be human in new ways.
Over the past 130 years, through developments such as advances in psychology and global shifts in travel and communication, a previously unknown capacity for self-awareness and interconnectedness has emerged. At the same time, with developments like nuclear power and climate change, we are also becoming aware of our capacity for complete self-destruction.
The sextile presents an opportunity to glimpse a future that integrates some hard truths and steps more solidly into humanity's true potential. We need not succumb to dystopian visions, nor must we hold ourselves to an impossible utopian alternative. We can participate in creating a visionary transformation by doing our self-work to heal the past and step into new possibilities in our personal lives, thus supporting collective possibilities that are grounded in reality.

Uranus-Neptune Sextile: What Must Change to Fulfill Our Dreams
Background: This aspect is in and out of close to exact from 2024 through 2029.
Timing: This aspect is within one degree of exact August 2 through December 18, 2025, and is exact on November 21, 2025 at 29 degrees Taurus-Pisces.
The Uranus-Neptune waxing sextile forms against this backdrop of an extended waxing sextile between Neptune and Pluto. Known as the planet of earthquakes and lightning bolts, Uranus brings the energy of rapid change. It is connected to technology, artificial intelligence, and global communications. It also relates to themes of individuality, freedom, and equality.
This sextile prompts us to consider what needs to change (Uranus) to fulfill our dreams (Neptune). We can glimpse a future in which technology is not merely imagined as something that replaces human love and connection, but rather as something that can support our capacity to be more human, more connected, and more able to live up to our true potential.
To fulfill this promise of the future, we have to be willing to look in the direction of what we most deeply want. We must be willing to imagine — to see ourselves — in the future we desire. Uranus-Pluto Trine: The Power of Revolution
Background: This aspect is in and out of close to exact from 2024 through 2029.
Timing: This aspect is within one degree of exact August 11 through November 17, 2025, and is its closest on September 10, 2025, at one degree Gemini-Aquarius.
Because Neptune and Pluto are in a sextile, Uranus forming a sextile with Neptune means that it is in a trine with Pluto. The trine is 1/3 of the way through the cycle between Uranus and Pluto that began during the 1960s.
To recap: Uranus is the planet of earthquakes and lightning bolts, and Pluto is the planet of truth, power, and transformation. Their relationship is rooted in the evolving sense of freedom and authenticity (Uranus) that emerges through speaking the truth (Pluto).
Seeds of revolutionary change, including peace, love, equality, and freedom to be oneself as an individual, were planted during the 1960s. When the two planets aligned in a square during the 2010s, there was pressure to make choices and steer the future in the direction envisioned during the 1960s.
That pressure, correlated with the square, was characterized in part by the 2016 election, following the presidency of Barack Obama, and resulted in the election of Donald Trump. I do not have space here for a complete discussion of the implications of those themes; however, you can work with your understanding of the dynamics at play.
Traditionally considered to be a "good" aspect, trines represent a more fruitful and supportive phase in the cycle. This trine, therefore, represents a point in which creative possibility is crystallized into something tangible. If we are clear about the future we want, this trine supports revolutionary change and the manifestation of our hopes and dreams.

Uranus-Neptune-Pluto Outer Planet Double Sextile + Trine: New Wind in the Sails of Change
Background: This aspect is in and out of close to exact from 2024 through 2029.
2025 Timing: All three planets are within 1/2 degree of exact August 25 through September 11, 2025 at one degree Gemini-Aries-Aquarius.
To experience this alignment of outer planets with two sextiles and a trine is extraordinarily rare. The last time a similar, though less exact, such alignment occurred was around 1500.
Essentially, this is a very visionary, very creative alignment that emphasizes the potential for humanity to solve its problems and manifest a new vision for the story of what it means to be human. The catch is, we can only do this if we are willing to see ourselves as capable.
Sextiles and trines exist as potential energy that only becomes activated through conscious choice. Humanity is dealing with global, collective problems. Pluto in Aquarius signifies that the participation of individuals is crucial if we are to effect genuine transformation.
Individuals and communities that are committed to fostering mutual respect and honoring differences are supported by these energies.
